Shared Databases

A shared databases in a database that can be accessed by certain people. It can be shared to selected people, or shared to everyone.
An example of a shared database would be a class register. This can be accessed by many lectures to mark whether or not students are, or are not attending a class. Every lecturer will have a register for their different classed, and take it at the beginning of a lesson.
It becomes a shared database because it is linked to student services. This is the place where students can get their EMA or ALG. Student services will need to see the register because the student will need to have attended all of their lesson in the week for them to be eligible for the bonus.
